Our skilled technicians will examine and assess your musical instrument maintenance and repair needs on-site with friendly and timely service.  If we can’t fix it, we’ll help you find someone who can.

We partner with outside band and orchestra service providers to meet your needs. Please give us a call to set up repair or maintenance for your instrument.

Additionally, we rent all manner of band/orchestra instruments (Fractional Violins, Violas and Cellos are available) as well as Guitars, Mandolins and Banjos. 

REPAIRS GENERALLY TAKE 14-21 DAYS TO FULFILL –

Time estimates for services 

  1. String Change- Up to 5 Days

  2. Setups and most other repairs- 14-21 Days

  3. We respectfully request that you don’t call for an update until the end of the above timeframes, the less our lutheries are called away, the faster we will get to your instrument. 

  1. What happens when the repair is complete?

    1. Music on the Hill staff will call you and leave a message. You will have 14 days to pick it up. 

    2. We recommend that you add MOTH’s phone number to your phone and listen to the message before calling back 

  2. What happens if I don’t pick up my instrument within 14 days?

    1. After 14 days from when MOTH reaches out, the customer will be charged a holding fee of $15/week until pickup

    2. Any instrument that has not been picked up within 60 days will be considered legally abandoned and the property of Music on the Hill 

  3. What happens if I have questions for the repair techs?

    1. The best way to contact the shop is to email repairs@musiconthehilldc.com. We will get back to you within 48 hours
